Rules of applying facial creams

Effectiveness of any cream depends on how you apply it. If even the most expensive cream would be applied with careless, spreading moves that will stretch skin and can lead to formation of unnecessary riffles.

Cream should be applied on a carefully cleansed skin:

If the process of cleaning would be dropped and cream would be applied at first it would plug up pores, which will lead to appearing of small pimples, blackheads and inflammation. Good cleaned skin will let cream to get to deeper layers, which will intensify result.

You should apply cream according to the massage lines:

Starting from the age 23-24 years it is necessary to use moistening cream for eyes. Usually it may coasts quite expensive, but it is spent very slowly. With the right usage tube would be enough for 2-3 month. Around eyes cream is applied by clapping moves of third fingers, as these fingers are less mobile. Clapping made by third fingers would be softer then for example clapping of middle, forefingers or little fingers. On the inferior eyelid cream is spread from the outer corner of the eye to the inner. On the superior eyelid, vice versa, cream is spread from the inner corner of the eye to the outer. Many specialists say that cream shouldn’t be applied on the superior eyelid at all, as it may lead to the ingress of the cream into eyes, irritation and edema. But I still put some cream to this part, as it seems too dry for me. As I think this part is very individual, if you don’t suffer from allergies or stimulation, you can moisten superior eyelid a little as well.

Face cream is applied by tapping movements of finger-pad on massaging lines:

All movements should be smooth and soft, don’t stretch your skin in any circumstances. Applying cream to your face, don’t forget about your neck. Skin of the neck also needs moistening and nutrition. If you pound cream on fingers it will make it warmer and will make blotting capacity better. In the morning I put cream on a wet skin, it will help skin to keep more moisture and prevent from dryness. After 10-15 minutes it is better to remove surplus of cream with napkin.

Cream layer should be quite thin:

You don’t need to put on face a deep bed of cream; your skin will soak as much nutrients as it needs. Remains of cream will cork up pores and will prevent from natural skin breathing.  As a result edema or irritation may appear on the face. After 10-20 minutes the rests of the cream should be moved with cotton ball, wetted with lotion, tea, acidulous or salty water.

Temperature of a cream is also important:

Skin doesn’t like too thick or cold means. After their influence blood vessels are narrowed, cells assimilate nutrients worse and effect of cream would become less effective. To avoid it – before putting cream on skin, make it warmer by holding in hands and pounding between fingers. You should do the same if you wipe off face with cotton ball.

Put cream on a humid face: with the help of water useful elements will penetrate in skin faster and better.

Few words about keeping creams:

Recently I read that creams will keep more of its useful properties if they are hold in a cold place. Now I try to follow this advice and keep my cosmetics in cold.

And one more thing:

One more diffused opinion is that cream for face should be changed two times a year with a goal to prevent skin from addiction to cosmetics ingredients. Some believe in this fact, others use the same cosmetics. There is no universal advice here. If cosmetics suit you and you feel positive result from it then you can surely use the same cream. In autumn and winter would be better to use something more nutritious, as for spring and summer choose light creams.
